A renewed focus on elementary & middle school

Campaign graphic: "A renewed focus on elementary & middle school — strong foundations, more opportunities, a brighter future for every Millburn student." Four points: smaller classes (reduce elementary class sizes), active learning (more hands-on, less screen time, recess in middle school), better pathways at MMS (review pathways and access criteria, remove unnecessary barriers to meet student needs at all levels), and more opportunities (expand and support extracurricular opportunities, and fund them).

The high school tends to get most of the attention in a district like ours. We think elementary and middle school deserve a renewed focus — strong foundations now mean more opportunities and a brighter future later, for every Millburn student.

What that looks like, concretely:

  • Smaller classes. Reduce elementary class sizes.
  • Active learning. More hands-on instruction, less screen time, and recess in middle school.
  • Better pathways at MMS. Review pathways and access criteria, and remove unnecessary barriers to meet student needs, at all levels.
  • More opportunities. Expand and support extracurricular opportunities — and fund them.

Stronger foundations, brighter futures — for every Millburn student.
